Costa Rica is a country that always is outstanding by its culture; existing the great range of possibilities, especially in the capital city.
City of San Jose
The Capital of the country, San jOse, nailed in Central the Intermontano Valley, is the nucleus of the call Metropolitan Area, that has an extension of 170 kilometers square and one population of approximately 1.000.000 inhabitants, including the floating population. It offers, like many other places of the republic, sites of historical interest, that speak of the gradual one, Pacific and democratic way crossed by the Costa Rican town and that indicate the national will to reach levels superiors, starting off of the best thing than it offers the world at every time.
Museums
The Museums, are a sample of Cultural, architectonic, archaeological, artistic and scientific the Patrimony, that have the function to protect, to recover, to recover and to transmit the lessons of our ancestors and presents. These lessons and manifestations are represented in our museums, libraries, sculptures, churches, markets, crafts or in any manifestation of creativity realised by ours. We can group them to the Museums in 8 types: Those of Contemporary, Religious, Anthropological Art, Natural History, Criminology, Entomology, Historical and those of Science and Technology. Of each of them we can mention: Museum of Costa Rican Art, Museum of Religious Art, Museum of Jade, Museum of Natural History, Museum of Criminology, Entomological Museum, Museum of Science and Technology, Museum Juan Santamaria, and the National Museum, most important given to the variety and wealth of its Patrimony.
Rooms of Theater
An endless number of theater groups, with the support of the University of Costa Rica and the National University, has come giving to the public works born from the will of the Costa Rican. The institutions: Castella conservatory, the National Company of Dance and the National School of Theater, have come offering extraordinary satisfactions.
