Volcanoes

Costa Rica is home for but of 60 volcanos, which estan distributed throughout the spine of the geography of the country that sonstituye by:

• Talamanca Range
• Central Volcanic Range
• Tilaran Range
• Guanacaste Range

Nevertheless, assets are considered. These are:

 Volcano Corner of the Old man

Location: One is located in the mountain range of Guanacaste, to a latitude of 10 50 North ’ and one 23 length of 85 the west.
Height: 1805 m.s.n.m.
Chemical composition: Andesítica 

Turrialba volcano

General descriptions
Type of volcano: estratovolcán composed
Location: 25 km NE of Carthage, at the end of the Central Volcanic Mountain range.
Height: 3330 ms

Volcano Bridles

The great crater but of the world and attraction for hundreds of tourists.
The geology of the active crater of the volcano Bridles has been studied by many investigators, among them Thorpe ET to in 1981 that considered that it is made up of piroclásticas rocks and taps of lava. These last ones are exposed in the North walls, this and South of the crater, with thicknesses of up to 50 ms, the chemical composition of these lava they are of andesítico type, whereas the piroclásticas rocks are formed by ashes and volcanic sands. 

Irazu volcano

Irazú volcano comprises of the Central Volcanic Mountain range, has an elevation of 3310 m.s.n.m. During all their prehistoric life it has had an activity to a large extent of the lávico type, nevertheless great part of the volcanic building is covered with layers of ashes and variable mud flows of thickness that form fertile grounds of the zone. 

Volcano Sandy ground

But the violent one of all the volcanos of Costa Rica.
The volcano Sandy ground, is located to the northwest of Costa Rica, forming part of the Mountain range volcáncia of Guanacaste. He is estratovolcán of conical form, with a height of approximately 1700 m.s.n.m., before 1968 was considered like an extinct volcano.
